A dozen Spanish companies accompanied the Basque Telecommunications Cluster to the Sidereus Project meeting, which was held from 26 to 28 November in Beijing, China, and of which GAIA is a member. The object of SIDEREUS is to promote co-operation that will lead to the development of products and services for GALILEO, the Global Satellite Navigation System promoted by the European Union with a view to reducing its dependence on the GPS system, from the USA, and on the GLONASS system, from Russia, with which it will be compatible. With its participation, GAIA would like the Cluster to play an active role in the projects related to the new satellite system, and for member companies to be able to develop products and service within the framework of the GALILEO Project.

The Basque Aerospace Cluster, HEGAN, will be present at Aeromart 2008, the largest international event in the sector, which, this year, will take place on the 3rd and 4th of December at Toulouse, the headquarters of one of the main European aerospace centres.
